- Luke might have said this book won the 2004 Hugo. It was actually the 2003 Hugo winner.

Well, I haven't listened the podcast yet, but this quote seems familiar: "How the hell did this book win a Hugo award?" It is about the same what I thought when I read the book. But there is an easy answer for that. Robert Sawyer is Canadian author. The worldcon that awarded that Hugo was in Toronto. There just might be some slight relation between those two facts. The same kind of effect can be seen in last years Hugo award in novella category. About the worst story won, when it was written by local author. Tpi (Finland)
