Variable Star is a novel 51 years in the making. Question: if Heinlein was on a spaceship heading out at 97% of the speed of light for 17 years, and Spider Robinson stayed on Earth to pursue his own writing career, would it have been completed any faster? Also, due to time dilation, Luke managed to talk for 20 minutes about the book.

4 stars out of 5, meaning you should buy it and read it. It missed out on being a 5 star book by the weak ending.

Thanks Marion!
- Luke said some ideas in the book were similar to those found in "Time Enough For The Stars". No such book exists, of course, Luke was mixing up the names of the books "Time For The Stars" and "Time Enough For Love", both by Heinlein.
